Juice WRLD’s latest album Legends Never Die is the number one album in the country. This is his first album released after his untimely death and has had one of the biggest streaming weeks in recent history reaching 497,000 equivalent album units within its first week of release! RIP.

TIKTOK ACQUIRES $200M FUND TO PAY CREATORS

The notorious social platform introduces a $200 million fund available to its content creators. The mega platform, know for breeding some of this generation’s biggest social media stars, wants to encourage “TikTokers” to pursue their dreams of turning their accounts into full-blown careers – similar to pioneers like Addison Rae and Charli D’Amelio. The fund will be open to applicants in August. 

JAY-Z, YO GOTTI, AND TEAM ROC HIRE MEDICAL EXPERTS TO REVEAL CRUEL CONDITIONS IN MISSISSIPPI

Jay-Z and Yo Gotti, along with Team Roc are helping represent Mississippi inmates in their lawsuit against the Mississippi Department of Corrections. There have been hundreds of reports of mistreatment from the prisoners in one facility in particular called Parchman. To alert authorities and receive the help they needed, inmates resorted to starting fires in order to get the officers’ attention. Let’s hope this intervention from celebrities and philanthropists will put an end to this injustice.

NEW MAC MILLER TRIBUTE PROJECT IS ON THE WAY

Warner Records recently announced that Mac Miller’s team is working on an untitled project to commemorate Mac Miller and his music. They have also set up a toll-free phone number in order to collect stories, thoughts, and wishes that fans have about the project.

WARNER RECORDS PROMOTES CHRIS ATLAS TO EXECUTIVE VP

In recent news, Chris Atlas has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Urban Music & Marketing for Warner Records. Atlas has emerged from tons of experience – he spent years at Def Jam Records where he worked with artists like Kanye West, Jhene Aiko, and Ludacris. Atlas has devised campaigns for NLE Choppa, Saweetie, Wale, Andra Day, IDK, YFN Lucci, and Shordie, Shordie as well as OVO Sound/Warner artists PartyNextDoor, dvsn and Roy Woods during his time at Warner. Atlas has proven himself at many levels of the music industry, there is no doubt that he will succeed in his new position as VP.
