We all miss pre-rona life, a.k.a. a time before the whoah’s of COVID-19. With coronavirus keeping everybody cooped up in the house, we could all use a little fun. Get dressed, throw a party (we mean virtual, of course) and take the club to the house with this Club Quarantine mix. Take it back to simpler times with some of the greatest forgotten hip hop throwbacks of the decade (with some exceptions) … we know you still slap them when no one’s looking. Whether you’re looking to reminisce, do karaoke with friends/family or throw a party for one — we’ve got you covered! Here are some throwback tracks to get your club quarantine poppin:
YG ft. Nipsey Hussle – You Broke
First things first, RIP Nipsey! Who could forget this dynamic duo? YG and Nip’s “You Broke” is definitely a pillar of party music. The slapping beat paired with a “f*ck you” attitude and highly relatable lyrics still has us going dumb.
Boosie Badazz ft. Webbie – On That Level
We’ve all had those nights where we take it from 2 to 10 REAL quick. No doubt that plenty of Boosie tracks have contributed to a whole lot of “wild out” vibes. This is definitely one of those tracks. Boosie pairs up with Webbie for “On That Level,” bringing club vibes to the casa. Although the beat calms down through the verses the turn-up vibes pick back up for the hook where Badazz takes us up several levels from a 3 to a 10.
Rick Ross ft. Jay-Z & Jeezy – Hustlin’ (Remix)
*Inserts Rick Ross moonwalking gif* A super throwback but still a goodie! This song (although it’s 14 years old) will still have you feeling like you just left a Vegas casino with six figures. Ricky Rozay puts you in a money-making mood with lyrics like “every day I’m hustlin,” then just when you think the track couldn’t make you feel like more of a millionaire… Jeezy comes in and sets the speakers on fire with some “old school” bars along with Jay-Z who slides in with the “Wait. Hol’ up.” Classic!
2 Chainz ft. Drake – No Lie
2 Chainzzzzzzz. With the first couple of bars, Chainz reels us in with creative, highly enunciated lyrics. Nothing like some 2 Chainz to make you feel like you got on two chains. Then, Champagne Papi A.K.A Drake comes in to accompany 2 Chainz for a tag team of verses on “No Lie.” We’ve all told some lies before, and there’s nothing like some pre-pop era Drake verses paired with a catchy hook and notable quotes like, “Real n**ga stay true, you ain’t neva told no lie… That’s that shit I don’t do,” to get your club quarantine vibe right.
Kanye West – Can’t Tell Me Nothing
We stan Yeezy! Strap up guys, Kanye’s taking us to Vegas so “parallel double park that muthaf**ka sideways,”… sike, we wish. But we get a real classic with this Ye track! Yeezy’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” still has us feeling like mob bosses trying to get our money right. Along with the catchy lyrics this 4-minute track will have the beat sample stuck in your head too!
Ca$h Out – Cashin’ Out
Definitely a slept on banger, Ca$h Out’s “Cashin’ Out” still has us screaming adlibs “ride round with that nina!” and “smoking on keisha!.” This track will have you hyped up to spend, spend, spend, it practically tells you to as Ca$h Out repeats the phrase “I’m cashin’ out.” No doubt this is stimulus-check spending music.
Jeezy ft. 2 Chainz – R.I.P.
R.I.P. to summer 2020 thanks to Miss Rona. This one’s for you 2020! With that catchy bouncy baseline this Jeezy and 2 Chainz collab entitled “R.I.P.” will have you feeling like you “Kilt the club”… Club Quarantine that is.
Lil Wayne ft. Detail – No Worries
Immune system up? Not worried about catching corona? Say it with me now — “We ain’t got not no worries!” This is party music at its finest. Lil Wayne and Detail have us getting noise complaints from neighbors for screaming out the lyrics just like we’re Weezy F baby! We just get straight bars from the goat himself, Tunechi. Lyrics like “Tunechi in this bitch, e’rybody should be worried. Them pussy n*ggas be purring, bitches be digging me I feel buried,” will keep us on 10 for the whole 3:49 minute track.
K CAMP ft. 2 Chainz – Cut Her Off
If she gave you that ‘rona you might wanna cut her off…and get your inspo from this track. With his melodic tones and catchy hook, ATL rapper K CAMP has us really feeling like “It ain’t nothin to cut that bitch off,”…don’t tell her we told you. An oldie but for sure a highly slept on goodie.
YG ft. DJ Mustard – Left, Right
4 hunnnidddd! No mistaking that this track is a must when it comes to turn up go-tos. With DJ Mustard production that has us giggin’ our asses off, YG comes in with the “okay okay okay” to immediately hype us up with straight gas and unforgotten bars like this one “I’m a pisces she’s a taurus she said she expensive..well, I could afford it.” This classic will have your whole house shaking and will have you moving “Left, Right” all night at Club Quarantine.
Rich Gang ft. Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan – Lifestyle
To this day some of us still don’t know the correct lyrics to this hit, however that doesn’t stop us from trying to sing along ‘cuz its so good! Rich Gang’s notorious track “Lifestyle” featuring Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug is one of the greatest to come from the mumble rap game if we’re just being honest. Whatever your lifestyle is, sit back, slap and enjoy the ride and let the track have you reminiscing about where you started.
Future – Turn On The Lights
Before there was “she belonged to the streets!” Future, there was “I’m looking for her” Future. If you’ve been looking for a “quaran-ting,” this song will make you wanna put in O.T. In this throwback Future slap entitled “Turn On The Lights” Future looks to find that special someone.
Trey Songz ft. Nicki Minaj – Bottoms Up
Mr. Steal Yo Girl plus the Queen of Rap? Yes, please! Don’t even try to deny it we all used to sing this song at full vocal capacity when it dropped. Trey Songz’s “Bottoms Up” featuring Nicki Minaj will always be legendary. From the hook, which has you ready to risk it all, to both fast-paced verses that have you tongue twisted trying to keep up (news flash you can’t … especially with Queen Nicki) this track is an overall BANGER … all caps no cap.
