Rapper Lil Yachty is launching his own gender-neutral nail polish line titled Crete to make nail painting accessible and approachable for everyone.
The debut “Negatives 001” collection will feature nail paint with an art pen design in three matte monochromatic shades and is set to drop on May 21.
“If you find painting your nails is a way to show your creative side, or it’s an aesthetic that fits you, you shouldn’t be judged for it,” Lil Yachty said in a press release, according to The Jasmine Brand. “Outside opinion shouldn’t have an effect on your aesthetic and whatever you decide to do, and this line is a reflection of that.”
The 23-year-old rapper first announced Crete in December after a Texas high school student, Trevor Wilkinson, was suspended for having painted nails.
“If someone wants to express themselves in any type of way, as long as it’s not harming anyone or bringing anyone down, they should be allowed to do so,” Lil Yachty said. “You shouldn’t be punished or tormented for doing you.”
