Chloe Bailey addressed her followers Sunday through a tearful Instagram video to confront hateful messages she’s received on her recent posts.
The 22-year-old singer and half of the singing-acting sister duo Chloe X Halle said the videos are a product of self-love and body acceptance, not to get attention.
“For every woman out there, don’t change who you are to make society feel comfortable,” Chloe said in the video.
The two sisters recently got separate Instagram accounts, and have created a more mature brand with their latest music.
“I just felt it was important to address it, so you guys get to kind of know who I am inside,” Chloe said.
Halle also showed her sister support through a recent Instagram live.
“Everyone is now seeing my sister, the other side of my sister that is just, oh my God, so amazing, sexy, everything in between, right?” Halle said. “This sister, me, my family, and all my super-close friends have seen for a super long time.”
Chloe’s tearful video also garnered support from filmmaker Ava DuVernay, rapper Wale and actress Halle Berry.
“Sending lots of love to Chloe. Keep doing you,” Berry said in a tweet.
