From a Friend to Nature: Let’s Treat the Earth Better

When I was younger, it wasn’t normal to have so many intense wildfires. I can’t help but wonder: how much are we to blame for what’s happening?

I have always been a friend to nature. My parents taught me at a young age to compost and recycle.

I didn’t realize then that those lessons were small ways to help the environment. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve made more changes to my life. I started gardening, eating less meat, and I’ve volunteered to clean up local beaches and parks.

Over time, I’ve learned more about climate change and how the world will get hotter in the summer and colder in the winter to a point where one day it may become ”inhabitable.” That’s why becoming more eco-friendly is even more important to me now.

After waking up to an “apocalyptic” red and orange sky, I can’t help but to feel disappointed in us. The earth gives us all these natural resources and all we do is destroy it.

If everyone could take part in caring for the environment then change will come. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen over time. And together, we can help prevent these natural disasters.
