A Black student is the only one not identified by name in Brown County High School’s basketball team photo. Instead, the words “BLACK GUY” were used.

Dr. Laura Hammack, superintendent of Brown County Schools in Nashville, Indiana, apologized in a letter to students’ families and said the district would consider disciplinary action after completing an investigation.

She said the incident in the yearbook was a “truly reprehensible error.”

“This is a clear violation of our nondiscrimination policy,” Hammack said Monday night in a Facebook Live video, according to WISHTV.

Hammack said it was unclear exactly how the caption made it through a series of revisions with the yearbook.

The school is predominantly white, according to the Indiana Dept. of Education.
