A new artificial intelligence institute from Deloitte is looking to leverage the careers for STEM students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
The Deloitte Artificial Intelligence Institute for Government is working to mentor and grow AI talent of the future by providing mentorship and scholarship opportunities to HBCU students.
While 8.5% of Black undergraduate students attend HBCUs, almost 18% of the Black STEM bachelor’s degrees are awarded from HBCUs, according to the National Science Foundation.
The Deloitte Artificial Intelligence Institute for Government, which launched March 16, was built to advance applied AI in the public sector by building a cross-sector community for research and shared expertise, and mentoring and growing the talent of the future.
